HIP-HOP IN SCHOOLS

The benefits of

Hip-Hop in Education

Incorporating hip-hop education into public school curriculum can have a number of benefits for students and schools, and can help to create a more engaging, relevant, and equitable learning experience for all.

Our Cultural Commitment

To provide students with a culturally relevant and engaging education that incorporates the rich history and cultural significance of hip-hop, while promoting equity, social and emotional learning, and self-expression.” For that reason, Academix and MUSIC to the Ears Foundation developed a comprehensive and culturally relevant Hip-Hop education curriculum for K-12 schools.

Hip-Hop 50:

Past, Present & Future

“Hip-Hop 50: Past, Present, and Future” uses elements of hip-hop culture, such as rap music, DJing, breakdancing, and graffiti art, to engage students and teach them academic subjects. It is based on the idea that students are more likely to be interested in learning if the material is presented in a way that is familiar and relevant to them. The course focuses on topics such as creativity, performance, self-identity, history, and language arts. The goal is to provide a more inclusive and culturally responsive learning environment for students from diverse backgrounds.
